This unit covers the methods used to test the stability of products for determination of appropriate shelf life. It also covers the examination of formulas to determine factors contributing to instability and methods to correct these factors.

Students will learn how to develop appropriate stability protocols to ensure performance characteristics of products are maintained over their shelf life. At the completion of this unit, learners will have the skills and knowledge required to formulate and test the stability of a variety of personal care products.
